LAWTOMATA LLC PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit www.lawtomata.com (the "Site") or use any of Lawtomata's services, including PTOFlow and Ask Alice (collectively, the "Services").

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Device Information: When you visit the Site or use the Services, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site.

We collect Device Information using "cookies," which are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. We also collect Device Information via log files that track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, date/time stamps, and HTTP request/response data.

Business Information: When you use the Services, we may also collect personal information when you create an account. In addition, you may provide Business Information to the Services, including information you receive, manage, or produce for clients, such as documents received from the Patent Office, patent numbers, claim text, and reporting letters and documents (or templates therefor). Business Information may also include information about clients (e.g., names and addresses), employees (e.g., names and telephone numbers), and users (e.g., names and passwords).

We collect Business Information via forms and other input mechanisms that allow you to provide us with that information. We store Business information in databases and file systems.

Order Information: Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as "Order Information."

When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information, Business Information, and Order Information.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders for services placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, provisioning computing resources, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to communicate with you.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns) or Services (e.g., to track and fix bugs, to provide user assistance).

We use the Business Information to enable us to provide the Services to you. For example, in PTOFlow, you provide us with a document from the Patent Office, along with information about the working attorney and client, so that we can process the document, generate template reporting letter/email, download prior art references, and the like. We may also access Business information to improve the Services or provide user assistance, such as upon your request to improve the Services with respect to a particular function or feature.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not share your Business Information or Order Information with anyone. Information about or related to your firm and your clients is kept in strictest confidence. In a "shared tenancy" configuration, Business Information may be stored in a database or server that is used by other customers. However, those customers are forbidden from accessing your information. You may also request that we create a "sole tenancy" configuration, in which servers and databases are allocated for your use only.

We share your Device Information with third parties to help us use your Device Information, as described above. We also use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use the Site--you can read more about how Google uses your Device Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
